Question: Marijuana use after ovulation

 Toehead1013 - Wed Aug 11, 2010 4:49 pm

Hello Doctor,

I am 26 years old and have smoked marijuana only a few times in my life. I know for a fact that I ovulated on August 1 and that same day my husband and I had sex. Two days after I ovulated my husband's boss had an "end of the summer" work party and some of my husband's co-workers were smoking marijuana as well as myself by mistake. Now, I think I might be pregnant but I'm concerned that smoking two days after I ovulated could effect the health of the baby. Should I be worried? I haven't smoked or drank since then.

User avatar Hello,
I would not worry about that single and early event. The important thing is to not continue to use harmful substances like marijuana, tobacco, alcohol and other illicit drugs. Even prescription drugs should only be used with the approval of your doctor.

Best wishes for your pregnancy. Congratulations!
