Question: complication to baby if mother has chlamydia

 loulou - Thu Sep 29, 2005 11:29 pm

What are the complications that can occur to the baby on delivery if mother has untreated chlamydia. And what are the percentage that babies a reported to be affected by the mothers infection.
Shana Johnson, CNA - Fri Sep 30, 2005 4:47 am

User avatar In pregnant women, there is some evidence that untreated chlamydial infections can lead to premature delivery. Babies who are born to infected mothers can get chlamydial infections in their eyes and respiratory tracts. Chlamydia is a leading cause of early infant pneumonia and conjunctivitis (pink eye) in newborns.
