Spondylosis overview

Spondylosis is a chronic degenerative disease of the intervertebral discs associated with reactive changes in adjacent vertebral bodies.


Usually no manifestations.

Nerve root compression or spinal cord compression may result in symptoms and signs of herniated discs)


Magnetic Resonance Imaging is very useful in its diagnosis.


1st choice soft collar leading to cervical traction and neck stabilization. If condition progresses surgery may be required.
