I've received results of an irregular pap smear and have also tested positive for lymes disease through an ELISA test but negative for lymes in a Western Blot test. I'm told there is a correlation between testing positive for lymes and having the HIV virus. Is this possible? What do I do next?

Hi Sunkissed27,
Have you had specific testing for HIV? The FDA has approved four rapid HIV tests. If you have not had specific testing for HIV, a suggestion would be to inquire regarding testing. Best wishes.
Sincerely,
Theresa Jones, RN
