Question: possible nipple piercing infection

 stenny - Sat Jan 03, 2009 8:55 pm

After having my nipple pierced around a month ago it seemed to be healing quite nicely. However after having it in contact with someone else it is leaking clear puss, is sore and seems permently erect. I also seemed to have developed flu like symptons although I'm not sure they are related, although I have had the flu prevention injection. I was wondering how i should treat this. I have been cleaning it regularly with savlon wound wash twice daily as my piercer advised.
Thank you.

User avatar Hello,
Sometimes infections occur after piercing and need to be treated by a doctor. If you notice swelling, fever, or pus, you should be seen. If it's just irritation it will probably heal without problem.

Best wishes.
