Post subject: sore, burning tongue
wcharp - Wed Mar 09, 2005 8:45 pm |
About a month ago I started experiencing a burning sensation every time I tried to drink something. The pain was from my tongue all the way down my throat. This went on for about a week and then it turned into a wierd numb feeling. After doing some research I thought that I may have a vitamin B def. so I started to take some by mouth. I don't know if this helped, but the pain slowly went away. After a few weeks of it being almost gone, my tongue started to feel numb and sore at the same time.. almost like I burned it. There are little red bumps on my tongue and there seems to be a sort of raised line in the middle of my tongue that is pretty sore when I touch it. I've also noticed white bumps on the back of my palet. When this started again I also began to experience a soap like taste in my mouth. It almost tastes like it is in the back of my throat and sometimes feels like heartburn.
I drink alcohol almost every day (and I also smoke cigarettes), that's why I thought it may be a vitamin deff, but I'm really scared. I've tried to quit drinking, and it's been difficult. I am going to the Doc next week, but I was hoping that I could find something out before then...
