Will taking Acyclovir make my smallpox vaccine lesion clear up faster? Is this safe? Will it make the vaccine less effective? I take acyclovir for cold sores but want curious if it will effect my smallpox vaccination in anyway.

Hello,Smallpox vaccine is never given now and kept only as a stockpile for genomic research. So you need not worry about this and continue your acyclovir prophylaxis. However if this relates to chicken pox vaccine the answer is that acyclovir can interact with efficacy of the vaccine, and should not be administered 24hrs after varivax. Best wishes.
