I am a 40 year old male residing in India. I have been drinking beer since the past 20 years. In the past one month, it seems that I have developed an allergy to alcohol. A month ago, while having beer, within 20 min. a small lump started appearing behind the left ear which kept growing at a rapid pace. Soon red blotches started appearing all over my body and suddenly my entire back was red. The doctor gave me anti-histamines and all the symptoms disappeared. Everything was back to normal.
The similar symptoms have appeared twice more while having beer & just two days ago, while having whisky.
I guess this narrows the search down to Alcohol being the cuplrit.
Is there any cure ? What has caused this reaction suddenly ?
Any help would be appreciated.

I am a doctor in training, and your presentation set off a red flag for me - have your doctor check you for Hodgkin's Lymphoma - just to be sure. In this disease, the patient often presents as you have explained - hopefully this is NOT the problem, but it would be nice just to be sure.
