Peptostreptococcus
Morphology
Peptostreptococci are gram positive cocci arranged in chains (streptococci). They are
widely distributed in nature, some are commensals in the body being
normal inhabitants of the mouth, vagina, intestine.
They participate in mixed anaerobic infections in the abdomen, pelvis,
lung and brain.
Cultural properties
They are anaerobic streptococci and require anaerobic media.
