Hi, I am drinking lots of water and passing very clear urine, but I am still extremely thirsty. could this be anything to do with kidney function? It happens occasionally for a day or so and I always feel very sick at the same time. Thanks Jodie

Hello -
What you describe (the thirst, urination and nausea) could well suggest new onset of diabetes. I don't have enough information to go beyond this suggestion, but this is part of the picture often seen. It could be a good many other things as well, but a serum glucose test would at least seem to be in order.
Hope this is helpful. Please follow up with us as needed.
