Hello. I had a question about some symptoms my boyfriend has been having .. for the past year his head bleeds every few days in the same two spots, not a huge gush of blood but a decent amount.. the past 2 months he has also picked up Vomiting as a symptom, he throws up every morning and also at least once through out the day, he just told me last night for the past 2 weeks there has been droplets of blood in his vomit. He's afraid to go to a doctor and wants to have an idea of what he's lookin at if he does... If you can help we would really appreciate it.. thanks, bonnie

Hello,

It is not so clear to me what did you mean by bleeding from his head.

However,
causes of Vomiting of or a blood in the vomit include:
- Prolonged and vigorous retching as it results in tear in the small blood vessels of the throat or the esophagus, usually in the form of blood streaks in the vomit, which is similar to what you described.

-Bleeding from
- Gastritis and n ulcer in the stomach, duodenum, or esophagus
- Irritation or erosion of the lining of the esophagus or stomach (commonly by drugs, or infections e. g. H pylori.

- Bleeding esophageal varices
-Esophagitis and GERD
- Gastroenteritis

Investigations include:
Upper Endoscopy
Blood tests.

Direct clinical examination is essential.
