Question: Head Numbness

zjwieber - Wed Jan 03, 2007 3:42 am

Hello, I am a 29 yr old male. Since May 06 I have experienced dizzy, heavy head sensations. At the end of May I had an "attack" where I experienced tunnel vision and almost passed out. Ambulance was called an I was taken to ER. This happened at work. EKG, CAT scan, blood work was done. All negative and I was released. Referred to Neurologist. Thought was ocular migrane. was given magnesium which did nothing. Was then given Effexor. I had very bad side effects. Was then sent to Cardiologist. Stress test done and all ok. Neurologist sent me to MRI and MRA of head, neck, and spine. Nothing abnormal. Multiple blood tests done. Normal. I have been a healthy college athlete my whole life and all the sudden this has happened to me out of the blue. I am now taking Gabapentin which is not helping that much either. I was given Ativan as well which didnt do much either and did nothing for my tingling head and lack of concentration. I have tried to live with this as best as I can but now am experiencing chest pressure which is freaking me out. Keeps me up at night with my head problems. Everyone says nothing is wrong and I should see a psychologist. I don't know what to do? I know what it feels like to be healthy and I want that feeling back. This was so sudden and has been here for 7 months. Any help would be appreciated.
