I am 28, female, 2 c-sections, no family history, meds= nortriptyline. Ok, I have had dizzyness for 6 yrs with change in postion. About 2 yrs ago I started having numbness, and pain in extreminites. Then I started having muscle twitching all over my body. Fingers, everywhere. I will get twitching in my right hand at rest more than my left but, it happens in both. Had several tests done, MRI, EEG EMG. Neuro say Fibromalgia. I am concerned about Parkinsons, should I be concerned about this and what do you think all these symptoms could be? All my symptoms have gotten better over the 2 yrs. A lot less twitching now than then and almost no numbing problems lately in last 9 months or so. One more thing, I had a severe tingling sinsation one night over whole body and I couldnt move for a few seconds or at least I didnt feel like I could. I have had problems with anixety and Depression for yrs.

Hello,
Numbness, tingling, paresthesias of extremities;, tremors; peripheral neuropathy; even changes in EEG patterns are reported as side effect of the drug nortriptyline (if you have been on the drug before these symptoms started).
You can check the patient information sheet provided within the medicine. In any case, it is always better to call your doctor for instructions and for consultation.
You should also be checked for the thyroid function.
Follow up with your doctor is essential.
Keep us updated.

Thanks for your reply, The symptoms started before taking the Nortriptyline, I have a thyroid test done, lyme disease as well. Is it possible that this is just Fibro? I am giving myself a death sentence here and am freaking out. I am scared to death of having PD which no one in my family has any neuro problems. All these sypmtoms started after I got infected with HSV. Could there be a connection?
