Question: SAH/Ruptured Brain Aneurysm-2 year ago

cashewmom - Thu Feb 15, 2007 9:28 pm

35 yr. old female. Ruptured anuerysm on Posterior Cerebellar Artery in Oct. 2004.
Currently taking Effexor XR, Eskalith CR (lithium), Ativan and 81 mg Aspirin. Have bi-polar 2 disorder and SAD - under control with meds.
Since the rupture, but now more frequently I have a cold/wet feeling approximately where I "felt" the rupture - left side, above my left eye at the hairline and then approx. 2 1/2 inches to the left. Sometimes it is painful (perhaps 75% of the time) other times just an odd feeling.
I seem to be "losing" my words more, too. They aren't on the tip of my tongue, they are gone. An example would be a sentence like this: "I need to get my hair done at the...what's that word, you know the place they cut hair with the chairs to sit in...". Someone is always around to fill in the blank which helps because the word will just be gone.
CT scan last week was normal - regular check-up.
I want to know why I am having the symptoms I'm having and should I be concerned or not.
Thank you for your time in reading and responding to my post.

The issue you are describing regarding not being able to find the right word is a form of expressive aphasia. This sounds like a mild case of Broca's aphasia.

I would recommend you see a neurologist. You may need to have an MRI done to evaluate your brain better. CT scans are good, but generally MRI's produce better pictures.

Best wishes.
