I am a 40 year old woman, and for the past week, I have a very warm (hot) sensation in my middle finger on my left hand, is this something I should consult a physician about? I do not want to ignore something potentially serious.

If your symptoms are not improving or are worsening I would recommend that you see your doctor. It may be that you have a pinched nerve that is needing attention.
Best wishes.
