My mom got her results today for Oncotype DX Test. Her score was 23 (15% chance of reoccurance). She is struggling with deciding to take chemo or not. She is 52 - double mastectomy on 1/16/06 w/ saline expander implants - node negative - had not spread - phase 1 - grade 1 - found only on MRI - two of her sisters have also been dx.

Hello,
Oncotype DX is a new way to estimate the risk of recurrence in patients that would otherwise not take chemotherapy (specifically those with node negative disease and hormone receptor positivity). Early results show that this is quite accurate but we are awaiting new studies and trials.
I would advise her to take the chemotherapy.
