my freind has very large texticles...each of them about the size of tennis balls maybe even bigger. One testicle is hard and the other is softer. there are no lumps anywhere. They are just very oversized. I am concerned as to what this may be. Cancer or something else?

If this is a change from his original testicular size he should definitely be evaluated. The size you describe is larger than typical. I would recommend that he be evaluated just to ensure nothing more is going on.
Best wishes.
