Anyone with any knowledge of Liver Metastis spreading to the Bones. from carcinoid syndrome.
Please details of and where pains occur plus what steps are taken to reduce pains and further spreading.
Any advice pertaining to the above gratefully received

Age 76 , Female, Had Syndrome for 11 years.
medication Sandostatin Lar 30 mg monthly plus 2 x 150 mcgs daily
Tumors stable from May 1996 to April 2006 then commenced to grow, embolisation now being considered.

Hi Jlarder,
I am not particularly familiar with this syndrome but wanted to give you at least some information. Bone pain from metastatic disease can be very severe and difficult to treat. The area of the pain depends on where the bone is affected. Commonly, cancers that spread to the bone will spread to the spinal column but other bone involvement is also possible.
Follow up with an oncologist is important.
