Hi… my 10 year old daughter has a lump in the center of her throat right on her "Adams Apple " or Thyroid, it appeared suddenly and is hard and Tender to the touch it also moves when swallowing and drinking water and some coughing especially at night, other than that there are no other visible symptoms, is there anything to worry about and is it possible to be dangerous, if so what is the recommended steps to be taken by the physician. Thank you

Hi, From your account it is probable that it is more likely to be a thyroglossal cyst. However,i suggest that you first consult a pediatric surgeon and get her assessed.Good luck!
