Question: Burning sensation

I am a 42 yr female.
Back on June 9/06, I had a ASD closure (A hole in my heart closed) They performed this by entereing through my groin. I have had no complications from this procedure however, in the past week, I have been experiencing this burning, spastic sensation in the back of my upper right thigh.
I thought it was because of the chair that I sit in at work but, it seems to get agrivated when sitting on the couch and sometimes while laying down. I did not injure this area.
If I rub the area, even lightly, the burning sensation gets agitated. It does not hurt to walk and there does not seem to be a lump.
This burning feeling resembles that of a bad sun burn INSIDE the back of my upper thigh and makes my muscle tighten slightly like a spasm.
Any thoughts on this would really help.
Thank you in advance,
Ms Blake

Hello,
Burning sensation in the back of upper thigh is probably a neuropathy pain.
This could be due to nerve compression (e.
g.
disc prolapse)infections like prodroma of herpes Zoster or any other cause of nerve irritation.
Neurological examination is essential.
Keep us updated.
Best regards.
