Question: What is wrong? I feel broken!

sarkin - Sat Jan 06, 2007 3:49 pm

Yesterday leaving the ortho. for my thumb, I felt a pop and 7/10 pain in my left elbow while turning my car to get out of the parking space. Came home, iced, wrapped and rested. Not thinking about it, I shut my door behind me w/ my left arm, and holy cow did that hurt. Arm was extended appro. 60 degrees. Aches w/ arm straight at my side, it's better if I bend it at my side. Medial elbow is mildly swollen and the pain is distal to the medial epicodyle, deep, & closer to the ulnar olecranon process.

In the last three months I have; sprained my foot bowling (no trauma, just woke-up and couldn't even walk on it), grade 1 AC joint seperation doing my P. T. exercises, knee strain putting my pants on, bilateral elbow pain (Rt. worse than Lt.), and now this. I have multiple tender points, not just at joints, but in the muscles as well. I just seem to be getting all of these soft tissue injuries to the point that it is affecting my job and life.

I am 35 y/o female. Work 24 hrs/week as and Occupational Therapist so I do a lot of standing, lifting, etc... I don't exercise regularly or eat horribly healthy. I have hx. of cervical neck disorders w/ c5-c6 fusion and c6-c7 degernation. EMG confirms nerve irritation at this level down right arm. I asked my primary if there is a correlation to all of this pain. She said it is very unlikely, but did some bloodwork anyway. My TSH came back normal, and all other bloodwork cam back normal.

What should I do next? I am tired of hurting. It seems that for every step I take forward I am knocked back two again. I am not depressed, no hx. of pysch issues.

Hello,

I have checked your previous posts and I still do not know which kind of blood tests have been done.

As I mentioned in a previous post, disease that affect joints like RA, ankylosis, OA, should be excluded.

I would recommend you to do a blood test for Rheumatoid factor if it was not done.

Is there any family history of similar conditions or diseases affecting joints.

Keep us updated.
Best regards.

I called my doctor today to get what bloodwork they did.
TSH
CBC
Sed. Rate
ANA

These all came back normal. I am having her nurse mail me the actual results.

What other tests would you recommend?

Thank you..........
