My 31 yr old wife broke her fibula Friday night getting out of my truck. We went to a doctor and got Xrays on Saturday, and are going to be calling a few orthopedic doctors and seeing one of them tomorrow. Attached are her xrays. I'm wondering if this fracture can be manually set or if surgery and plating will be needed. Thanks.

Hi Cmasters2,
I'm not an orthopedic specialist so I can't say for sure but I suspect that this fracture will not need surgery. It can likely be casted and will heal well.
Best wishes.
