Question: blood in urine

 momma2006 - Sun Jan 29, 2006 4:23 pm

My little brother is 12 and he recently started bleeding during urination and after. What would cause this at such a young age? Could it be kidney stones?
 NikkyLeClair - Wed Feb 01, 2006 10:12 am

Though there are many causes possible. A UTI is the most common reason. Does he have alot of pain?
Dr. Heba Ismail - Fri Feb 03, 2006 8:54 am

Dear momma2006,
If you have not already taken him to the doctor for a proper evaluation and urinalysis, then please do.
There are many reasons, such as urinary tract infection and stones, but there could be other more serious causes.
