My daughter is 6 weeks old, she is always hungry she is taking 5 oz every 3-4 hours and will do a stretch of 6-7 hrs at night a few times a week, she would probably go to 6 oz with no problem, she does not spit up and she is 9.6lbs. Is this too much formula every 3-4 hrs?

No this is not over-feeding. In fact it is exactly in the amount range I would expect her to need. You are doing fine. Congratulations on the new baby. Enjoy her!
