Question: F 3 yo vomitting and fecal breath

 Valombre - Tue Jun 08, 2010 12:03 pm

Since this morning, my 3 yo daughter start vomitting everything she eats and have a really bad fecal breath. Since she receive Gravol for infant, vomitting stop but she still have a fecal breath. She had 2 really big stool this morning, no blood. Abdomen is normal and she is not complaining of any pain.

What could it be? Is the Fecal breath a symptom of something that could be dangerous?

Thanks

User avatar Hello,
If the vomiting is resolving I wouldn't worry too much about the breath odor. If your child were vomiting something resembling coffee grounds it would be more concerning. I suspect this is some residual infection causing the smell and it will probably resolve on its own. I have never heard of this being a symptom of something serious.

Best wishes.
