My daughter was born on the 7/5/10. She had a small white mark on her cheek, barely noticeable. Recently I have noticed it has become slightly larger and is now quite raised. It looks like a fingernail scar. It has never been red or pink in colour, it just a small white strip. I was thinking it was possibly a keloid but after much research I've seen that they don't form in newborns and they come after having some sort of trauma, which is impossible as she had it on arrival. I'm really starting to worry cause I don't want her to have a problem with her face. Would appreciate your opinion. Thank you...... I do have pics

Hello,Lichen striatus is a benign skin condition commoner in children but could occur in any age group including infants. The lesion starts as a linear slightly raised scar like elevation forming a band which is solitary and unilateral.Generally it is asymptomatic. It can become hypo pigmented. The course is spontaneous disappearance in a few months. It would be good if you can send the photos but apart from a minor injury scar this could be a differential diagnosis. Best wishes.
