Question: 3 month old daughter, mass under each nipple

 samelton - Sun May 22, 2005 3:59 pm

my 3 month old daughter has a mass under each nipple and one appears slightly inverted. Please respond if this is normal development. i am very worried. the masses are not visible, only noticeable by touch, so they may have been present for some time. thank you

Not to worry at all, this all normal. We only worry if there are signs of inflammation( red, hot and tender skin), or if there are changes in the overlying skin texture.

Thank you! I have since had her checkup and heard the same. I greatly appreciate your reply--she's my only girl, so I didn't know what to think!
