HI,
I have scoliosis and was recently on vicodine for back pain. Someone told me that people who a curved spine should not take this pain killer. I googled hydrocodone and it said the same thing. Why is this? why would taking pain killers (vicodine) be harmful to someone with curvature of the spine?

Ginger,
My son had congenital scoliosis, a severe case, he died last week. He had been prescribed Vicodin. The cause of death is not yet known, but please do not take this drug without talking to your doctor. As I said, his was a very severe case.
