A couple of questions...is it ok to use Metronidazole orally and Monistat vaginally at the same time? Also, will sugar alcohols like xylitol, sorbitol, etc make me sick if I eat them while taking Metronidazole? ( I am an addicted sugar fee gum chewer, and they all contain these alcohols!!) What about chocolate liquors in most candies?? Thanks, just don't wanna get sick. The doctor made a huge point to say don't drink any alcohol...

Hello,As far as I know the interactions relate to ethyl alcohol and metronidazole only and I could not get any reference to plant alcohols.
