I did some kind of damage to my collateral ligament in one of my fingers. I put a homemade splint on it. Not sure if it's a sprain or just a pulled/torn ligament. Can I just treat this at home? :(

Dear kc,
Within the first 24-48 hours put ice on your finger, after that if it is swollenm you can put some warm compresses on it. For pain, you can also use some over the counter pain pills such as ibuprofen and the like.
If the pain does not improve within a week, i would encourage you to go see your doctor.
Thank you very much for using our website http://doctorslounge.com and i hope that this information helped.
Yasser Mokhtar, M.D.
