a close friend of mine is constantly complaining of aches and pains.he claims that he has been diagnosed with fibromyalgia but i suspect that he's just faking.is there a way i could tell for sure?

Hello imurva,
Fibromyalgia is a very controversial subject. Some physicians do not believe that it is a medical illness as much as it may be a reflection of psychological stress. However, there is no proof of a psychological cause, either, and until we have a better understanding of the disorder, it is likely to remain controversial.
