Question: fibromyalgia

a close friend of mine is constantly complaining of aches and pains.he claims that he has been diagnosed with fibromyalgia but i suspect that he's just there a way i could tell for sure?

Fibromyalgia is a very controversial subject. Some physicians do not believe that it is a medical illness as much as it may be a reflection of psychological stress. However, there is no proof of a psychological cause, either, and until we have a better understanding of the disorder, it is likely to remain controversial.

There has been an attempt to create diagnostic criteria for this disease. Please refer to our fibromyalgia.htm" class="postlink">fibromyalgia page for more info on these criteria and how to exclude this disease.
