Question: hernia repair complications

whackynunu - Sat Jan 14, 2006 5:53 am

my mother had hernia repairs with mesh webbing and 6 coils screwed into her pelvis. she feels that one of the coils have come loose. It is pinching her severely when she sits, bends over, and when she places her hand on her groin she can actually feel it. She visited her new Gynocologist and he feels it is just a pulled muscle and told her to take advil, but she knows that something is wrong. This had been going on for 4 weeks now. What does she need to do?

Concerned daughter

Hi whackynunu,
Your mother needs to notify the surgeon that performed the hernia repair for a re-evaluation.
Sincerely,
Theresa Jones, RN
