i am a 27 year old female.I was washing the inside of a glass two days ago when it broke and cut the base of my thumb pretty deep.I went to the hospital, waited for two hours and finally got six stitches.no pain meds,no antibacterial ointment...they just stitched me up and sent me home.its been two days and one little spot on my thumb is numb.It hurts a little on the cut itself but mostly it hurts under the cut,on the other side of my hand.is this or could this be serious?

Hi frankiehall27,
You may be experiencing a type of referred pain but I would suggest that you have a re-evaluation.
Sincerely,
Theresa Jones, RN
