Hi, I was wondering what the expected recovery time is after a scrotal hernia surgery? I am a graduate school student and I cannot afford to take time off school. My hernia is not bothering me that much at the moment so I was thinking that I would wait for my next break before I did the procedure. However, I sure would to love to get it repaired as soon as possible if time allows for it. I will be thankful for whatever information and advice I can get.

Hello -
Generally this sort of surgery heals fairly quickly, especially with the minimally-invasive surgeries done nowadays. It may take a couple weeks to heal completely, and strenuous activities (especially lifting) should be avoided during that time, but I would think you'd be back on your feet and functioning within a week on average.
Good luck with this and let us know how things turn out.
