Question: hemorroids-when to seek surgery?

 freckles - Sun Aug 07, 2005 10:37 pm

During my pregnancy I developed hemorroids, at home remedies always took care of them. Recently, they have flared up and have gotten pretty bad. At my annual exam, my ob/gyn prescribed a prescription to help the pain. This has helped, but the swelling doesn't seem to be going down. What is a reasonable amount of time to continue with the prescription meds? Bleeding is also an issue during bowel movements, how much blood is too much? Is it time for me to make an appt with a surgeon?

hey id make an appointment now, a hemmoroidectomy can be done as same day surgery and patients tend to have really good results, those suckers hurt ...good luck to you!
