i am a 33 yr old male and for the past 3 to 4 weeks i have had a pain in my lower right side and habe had frequent urination. went to er about a week ago and was told i had a uti and that i needed to see a kidney specialist. i went to er again on 2/5/07 and was told it had cleared up but pain and freg urnination is still there. would like to know what is causing the problem?

Hi dtruss,
During your initial visit to the ER, were you prescribed an antibiotic? Did you receive a referral to a Urologist because persistent pain may indicate a condition aside from a UTI, i.e. residual inflammation of one of the other male structures. Best wishes.
