Question: Painful when urinating plus pus and blood discharge

DesperateLondoner - Fri Apr 13, 2007 3:48 am

I have been faithful to the same girl for nearly a year now. Last 4-5 days, I have noticed an increased pain when urinating. Last 2 days are hell as I have now noticed white/brown pus as well as blood discharging from the end of my penis which is bright red in colour. Sometimes, my balls/prostates also hurt when I stand up.

My research has led me to believe that I have gotten Chlamydial Urethritis (apologise for misspelling). My questions are:

a. Can I have had Chlamydia for longer than a year and not noticed any symptoms?

b. Can one get Chlamydia from oral contact like French kissing (I understand one can get it from oral sex)

c. Is my diagnosis correct?

My partner has had a very active sex life until I met her and I wonder if this has remained so for the past year since I have been with her. She says that she has not had sex with anyone else but this leads me to think that she might not be 100% honest.

Please answer asap as we are going to the Doctor in a few hours. Would like an answer before she wakes up.

Gonorrhea and chlamydia are both common causes of urethritis in men. Both are often assymtomatic infections, especially in men.

When symptomatic, chlamydia is usually symptomatic within about 3 weeks. Gonorrhea may take 3-4 weeks to become symptomatic.

While it is definitely possible to be infected for longer than a year, it would be a little strange for the infection to suddenly become symptomatic after a year.

There are some non-STD possibilities as well so I recommend that you be tested to be sure.

Best wishes.
