Question: Dark Patches on penis head HELP

richard11 - Sun Apr 15, 2007 10:06 pm

Hello

about 8 months ago I noitced this very noticeable dark patch on the under side of my penis which to me is ver visable. original it started as a small dot on the left side and now its on the right side. the patch on the right side is the one that is bothering me as this patch looks quite big it starts from the urethra and goes down to the under side.

at this time I went to see my GP as I was very worried. she to a look at it and said it looks like Eczema and gave me some aqueous creme. I was on that for 4 weeks and then went back to see her as it did not help at all instead it just irritated my penis head. she then said that there was nothing me she could do as at the time I was not sexually active so she ruled out an std. until then I have not returned as she tried to make out like it was nothing.

up to this very day the patch is still there and on some days its darker and seems irrited. on other days it looks lighter then comes back again even worse then before. Also when my penis is errect I notice that the skin seems very try that it crackles and then when it goes back flasid again it looks like its really dry and crackly. the rest of the penis is fine.

I also forgot to mention that days when its iritated and goes darker I get slight sting sensations.

ever since this I have not been able to have a sexual relationship as it looks bad to me and im very concious of it. I would also not know how to explain it to a partner.

Please help me

thank you

I would recommend that you see a dermatologist for a diagnosis and treatment.

Without being able to examine you I am not exactly certain what is going on. It is possible that you do have some Eczema that is cuasing some inflammatory hyperpigmentation. You may also have a fungal infection of the skin.

Best wishes.

Thank You for your response

if it is a fungal infection can you please recommend me something that I can get to clear any fungal infection of the skin.

Depending on the extent of the infection, there are topical creams as well as oral medicines.

Most of these are prescription medicines.

I generally refrain from recommending specific medicines as I am not able to directly examine you.

Best wishes.
