Question: Can diabetics get genital piercings?

If they maintain good a1c levels (around 6)? What are the risks?
|Debbie Miller, RN - Tue Jan 06, 2009 11:17 pm|
If I were diabetic I would not risk unnecessary injury to the body which would possibly result in poor healing. This is a personal decision but there is no way to predict who will react badly.

I appreciate your opinion, but you haven't told me the risks. And would the risks be that much greater than a person without diabetes?
|Debbie Miller, RN - Fri Jan 09, 2009 3:40 pm|
The risks are infection and yes, anyone can have that risk but diabetics do not heal as well as non-diabetics so infections must be guarded against and treated carefully.
I hope this helps.
