Question: Am I at risk for Herpes?

 agentzero - Mon Dec 22, 2008 5:35 pm

I am a 20 year old male. Three months ago I had unprotected sex that lasted for less than a minute. Two months after I started to feel pain in my legs and they have felt sore ever since. I have seen no bumps, rashes or pimples on my genitals since the encounter but recently I have had a small outbreak of pimples on my buttocks. Could any of these symptoms be related to herpes?

User avatar Hello,
I can't say definitely but this sounds very unlikely since the location is the buttocks (unless you had anal sex). But, hopefully this scare will cause you to take precautions (at least with condoms) for sexual encounters until you are in a monogamous, committed relationship.

Your doctor could run tests to see if you are positive for Herpes, but I would expect different symptoms. Leg pain would not be typical, however.

Best wishes.
