Question: bloated and irritated bowels

 mysticrelation - Tue Jan 02, 2007 12:20 pm

My boyfriend is 40. He always feels bloated, with light stomach cramps. His bowels are a GREEN color with very little black. He has a lost of appetite, but still tries to eat.
He is regular. But still has tried fiber.
No fever.

User avatar Hello,

This could be due to :
- IBS:
Commonly people who have IBS complaints off
Abdominal pain or colic
A bloated abdomen
Gaseous distension
Either Diarrhea or constipation or an alternating between both of them
Mucus containing stool

- Certain food and iron supplements

- Gastroenteritis a form of infection in the GI tract. Infection with Giardia is common cause of green stool. Diarrhea is always present in gastroenteritis.
Stool analysis as initial step is mandatory.
