Question: black stool
|rollups - Sat Oct 27, 2007 4:03 pm||
I am 72 years old, female.
I am having black stools. And the smell is horrible. I take iron pills. Could this be the reason why I have black stools.

Iron pills can cause some black coloration to the stool; however, it may also be due to blood in the stool. I would recommend you see your doctor to have this evaluated and be sure everything is OK.
