Question: no bowel movement in over a month

 nathan22 - Sun Dec 23, 2007 12:31 pm

I haven't had a bowel movement in over a month. I have tried drinking 10 bottles of magnesium citrate over 4 days, taken senna lax tablets (2) and had one enema since Tuesday. Nothing is producing anything but a little liquid. What more can I do

User avatar Hi Nathan22,

I would suggest that you see your doctor to discuss this. It sounds like you are impacted. You may need to use some prescription strength medications to help this.

I would recommend against using large amounts of over the counter medications such as magnesium citrate. In large volumes these can cause electrolyte imbalances that can be dangerous.

Best wishes.
