Question: stomach issues

 compton - Wed Sep 15, 2004 10:29 pm

Hello doctor,
I seemingly have several problems that have developed recently and can’t decipher if it’s all separate issues or related.

Firstly, I have this nagging not severe pain on the right side of my stomach, across from my belly button. Sometimes it moves a little more downward or around to my back but its mostly in front.

Secondly, I have missed 2 menstrual periods and received a negative pregnancy test reading. This had happened once before and my gynecologist recommended primolut, I took them for 1 week and was fine until now (about 1 year later). I should mention that I cane off of birth control pills about 3 months now. Can u tell me if it’s all related?? If I have some intestinal problem or fertility issue? My stomach is bloated and I’m miserable, please help.

User avatar Hi!

How long have you been having this pain? Do you have a history of urinary tract infections? Symptoms like burning urination?

Oral contraceptives help irregular cycles, and stopping it might bring back the irregularity. With intestinal problems one would expect some change in bowel movements. And for infertility to emerge, at least a year long relationship should turn futile at it, while not on contraceptives.

Probably it's only peptic ulcer disease. Try some healthy eating habits and antacids if needed.
