Question: Missed first 2 periods after starting the pill

 chaz - Wed Jan 05, 2005 12:41 pm

My girlfriend has missed her first two periods after starting on the pill. We knew the first missed period is considered normal, but now she is concerned that we might be pregnant. We have had sex, but each time using a spermicidical comdom and have been careful. After the first missed period, she took 2 different pregnancy tests and both came back negative. Is it common at all to miss two periods in a row after starting the pill??

She has experienced spotting at random times throughout the two months and once I noticed that she had spotted some after sex.

We are both worried and eager to find out whether or not we're pregnant. We're going to take another test, I'm just curious as to what the odds are on this one?? Can someone help me?

I do not mean my first question to sound demeaning in any way, but it has to be asked.

The birth control packs - are they 21 or 28 day regimens?
