Question: Birth Control & Weight Loss Products
|marie71 - Sat Mar 12, 2005 12:48 am|
I know that taking certain antibiotics can affect the efficiency of birth control. I am currently taking birth control and I am considering trying Trim Spa, a weight loss product, but I am wondering if it could have any ill effects on the birth control. Any information at all would be appreciated.

While the use of antibiotics interactions and birth control use has been significantly studied in clinical trials, the use of diet pills and it effect on oral contraceptives have not. However, to my knowledge, there has been no reports on this decreasing the effectiveness.

Have to agree with previous post. I don't know of any studies showing decrease in effectiveness of pills. I think the jury is still out on whether these products actually do help in weight loss, however.
