Question: weight gain in the vagina

 WENDYB - Sun Jun 19, 2005 1:54 pm

i recently have gain 35 pounds i notice extra skin in my vaginal area would this be why?
 Kim C, RN - Sun Jun 19, 2005 6:19 pm

Since I can't actually see  you, I would have to assume that this is just your body's place to put that extra weight. Some women gain in the tummy/lower abdomen area, including the mons pubis (where your pubic hair is). That's one possible explanation. Fat is fat and it has no conscience about where it goes, unfortunately! (I'd like my fat to fluff out my crow's feet instead of stick on my thighs, lol...)

Any further concerns merit a visit to your doctor to ensure that there are no other medical issues going on.

Good luck!
