Question: Fishy vaginal odor

 dcgal23 - Fri Aug 19, 2005 6:44 pm

Over the last year I've developed a horrible fishy smell that gets worse during intercourse. I've been sexually active for ten years and have never experienced anything like it. I itch a lot--especially right after my period. I'm very clean and have been tested for STDs. I was on the Orthotricycline Lo for around two years and discontinued it a month ago to see if it would help, but nothing changed. I don't have health insurance and don't know what to do. It's so incredibly humiliating--can anyone help me with this?

User avatar It sounds like an infection. Bacterial vaginosis has to be treated with an antibiotic prescribed by a doctor, so you need to make an appointment to be seen.
