Question: Lost Period

 ekl29 - Sun Sep 18, 2005 6:36 pm

This will be a little different. My wife has not gotten her period yet. Our daughter is 11 months old and my wife went on the pill right after. She stop taking the pill in July (the whole time getting a period) and got a period in August. She is having some of the same symptoms from our first child but not all. We have taken three pregnancy tests, all different brands, and they were all negative. What are some of the other reasons, if she is not pregnant, that she has not gotten her period.

User avatar Hi ekl29,
Some women, after discontinuing birth control pill use experience irregularities in their cycles. This, however, should resolve in a short amount of time. I would consider this as the initial problem especially since the pregancy tests to this point have been negative. If you still feel that she could possibly be pregnant a lab test detects pregnancy sooner than a urine test.
