Question: Can you be pregnant with a prolonged period?

 sscullop01 - Thu Oct 27, 2005 8:53 am

I have had normal periods all of my life, except when I was pregnant with my child(who is 6). Last week I started my period early and assumed that it was from dialy stress in my life, well my period has not stopped and it is now going on 11 days. Could I be pregnant or is there something else wrong?

User avatar Hi sscullop01,
It would be unlikely that pregnancy would be the cause of a prolonged menstrual cycle. More likely, abnormal menstrual cycles are related to hormone imbalance, stress, uterine abnormalities, etc. You may want to call your physician for an evaluation to identify the causative factor.
